ABOUT ME

In a world where mass production and fast fashion currently reign supreme. my goal is to shift the perspective of fashion from being perceived as just what we choose to wear,  to timeless 'wearable art'. Everything we put on (from clothing to accessories, and even to the scent we spritz on) is an expression of who we are or who we want to be that day. When I created Dolly Pearl in 2010, I just wanted to make beautiful clothing. I want everyone wearing my designs to feel beautiful, ethereal, and most importantly, the absolute best version of themselves. Each design I have come up with is something I would wear, or something that someone I adore would wear. My inspiration comes mostly from all of the amazing and strong women I know, have known, and have yet to meet. 

My background has always been in the arts. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I graduated from the University of Houston, with a BA in Fine Arts, and minor studies in Architecture. I transitioned to Fashion Design in 2008, attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, and have had a passion and love for designing clothing since. 

My hobbies/interests include photography (checkout my visual diary for a preview of my work), painting, learning, and traveling with my husband and my dog. These interests collectively keep my on my creative toes, and allow me to continually see design in new light, perspectives, and angles.
